The John Howard Society – Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow
In 1957, the John Howard and Elizabeth Fry Society helped male and female offenders and their families. Throughout the seventies we focused on reforming the criminal justice system. In 1983, the John Howard Society became a separate organization, focused on helping male offenders.
In the twenty-first century, we focus on restorative justice as a means of helping offenders, victims and communities hurt by crime. We also work toward involving the public in the criminal justice system.
